A £30m risk that hopefully won't see Manchester United come unstuck

taken the most calculated of risks in not securing a deal for Carlos Tevez.

If I had to criticise one
thing about Manchester United then it is our inability to keep business in
house. Whether we are targeting players, looking to sell them on or simply
contract disputes it is all played out within the media. At times I don't
believe it shows us in a very good light and I guess we are therefore open to
any such criticism that comes our way.
Why Arsenal shouldn't let this £16m gift-horse pass them by

FanCast guest columnist Joe
Baxter feels that Saturday's
performance, once again, highlighted Arsenal's need of a Bergkamp esque figure within
the squad that can unlock the most resolute of defences.

I bet my bottom dollar that I wasn't the only
Arsenal fan who was privately seething on the long journey home on Saturday. As
we meandered our way down the A1, trying to dissect our woeful display, Wenger
came on the airwaves to discount Sunderland's negative tactics as the reason
for the result. To say the air went blue in the car was an understatement - why
can't he take responsibility for our apparent failings?
Spurs' young duo are putting their teammates to shame

columnist James Milburn feels that Bale and Campbell have put the rest of
their teammates to shame.

They say when the chips are a down at
a football club that it is the perfect indicator to test the player's resolve
and which ones are prepared to fight and which ones are going to cry off. Spurs
seemingly have plenty of the latter and that is why they are in their current
predicament.
Why Arsenal and Liverpool will be left in the shade

Football
FanCast columnist and Villa fan Greg
Symonds is in no doubt
who he feels are Manchester United's main rivals for the Premier League title.

You can forgive Martin O'Neill for revealing that he
woke up feeling optimistic Sunday morning. I think most Villa fans, heartened
by our early season form, felt we could go to Stamford Bridge and get something
from the game. It didn't happen and that has to go down as the biggest 2-0
thrashing I have ever had the displeasure of witnessing.
The £20m duo would provide the icing to Liverpool's well prepared cake

FanCast guest columnist John
Wells feels that this
Liverpool side is two full backs away from a Championship winning side.

I'm sure there isn't a Liverpool fan out there that
hasn't got the wryest of smiles across their faces this morning. Who can blame
them - yesterday's second half performance and result did little else but make
the Premier League take note that this Liverpool side is going places and a
title challenge that once seemed unrealistic, could now be a guaranteed
certainty.
