Football FanCast columnist Harry Hockley looks at the constant rumour and speculation that
surrounds Berbatov's future at Spurs and feels that maybe they should be looking
for a replacement a lot closer to home.
If there is one thing I love about the summer, then it is the constant
rumour and speculation that circulates the printing presses. Quite where they
get their inspiration or where they pluck names from remains a mystery to me.
It is like they know that Spurs need a left back and then go on Championship
Manager and pinpoint some names, look at their attributes and hey presto we
will run with that story, "Spurs linked with young Paraguayan sensation".
Harry Hockley
brings us the latest nominees for the Tottenham Football FanCast's signing of
the season.
As the season came
to a close on Sunday, after witnessing possibly the worst game I have seen at
the Lane for many a year, we at the Tottenham
Football FanCast congregated with a pint in hand and put together our final
nominees for the annual awards ceremony.
Football FanCast columnist
Harry Hockley is happy to see the Spurs coffers opening
but feels the door needs to be opened a lot wider to give Juande Ramos every
chance to succeed.
If there was one thing that I was adamant about last season
then it was that Spurs had the wrong man in charge. I liked Martin Jol as a
person and few would argue that he was the most honest man in the game but for
me he just lacked that something that makes a good manager a great one.
Football FanCast columnist Harry Hockley
is delighted at the weekend signing of Luka Modric and feels that in Juande
Ramos, Spurs finally have the hook to attract Europe's top names.
I doubt there was
a Spurs fan that didn't wake up Saturday morning with an element of surprise.
Not that we had signed a player but the relative efficiency in which the
transaction took place and unlike Tottenham it wasn't leaked to the media. It
certainly caught me unawares and I for one am delighted that we have brought
the services of Luka Modric to White Hart Lane.
Football FanCast columnist
Harry Hockley feels it about time Spurs fans were given
some transparency over the future of Dimitar Berbatov.
He is without doubt one if not the most sought after players
in the Premier League. Supremely talented, class personified and the finest
player, Tottenham Hotspur has had in years however there seems to be a real stirring
pot around Fleet Street; fuelled by agents, close family and insiders and all
conspiring to remove the player from our great football club.
