Football FanCast reporter Freddie Myers mulls over the latest rumours and rumblings

I don't think that there are many football fans who don't share some admiration for the way David Moyes has transformed Everton football club. He has awoken one of the games great Bastions, turned them into a force to be reckoned with and one that you feel is very much on the brink of success.

Moyes has worked tirelessly in the past years, under relative constraints and you can't help but feel that this is the summer that Everton need to crank up a gear and add some genuine quality that is going to ensure that the club don't fall short next season. Over the passing weeks they have been linked with pretty much every available midfielder in Europe, all good players it must be said, but it's vital that Moyes brings in the right player that possesses good character and who isn't going to unsettle the team; Everton need to bring in an Piennar's of this world oppose to an Andy van der Meyde's.

The latest name to be linked to the football club this morning is Argentinean Pablo Aimar; the highly talented Zaragoza midfielder who joins Milito and Garcia as one of high profile names that is certain to leave this summer following the clubs relegation from La Liga - he is certainly the type of playmaker Everton need and at £7m, would represent an absolute steal.

So is Pablo Aimar the type of player you can see fitting in at Goodison Park? Does he represent the type of quality that can take Everton up the desire level? Should Everton be focusing their attentions elsewhere?

I like him but he reminds me

I like him but he reminds me a bit too much of Arteta, I prefer we look elsewhwere.

Please make it happen Moyes,

Please make it happen Moyes, he is they type of playmaker we have been crying out for in ages - Arteta was too disinterested last year so will happily see the back of him.

I just wish we would sign

I just wish we would sign someone ! Aimar is class, go get him Moyes 7m is nothin for a player of his quality

Aimar is a class player and

Aimar is a class player and has a few good years left in him , A steal at £7m

7 million??? If so go and

7 million??? If so go and get him right away, a quality player and thats what we need to take the step up. I wonder where he would play as he is certainly not a central midfielder, certainly attackive!! Players like Gary Cahill are going for prices like 7 million these days, if so snap him up. Shame its probably a load of rubbish as we are linked with far to many people. Next player has to be someone with bit of height, we lack height in attacking areas when Cahill is not there.

He may remind you of Arteta,

He may remind you of Arteta, but he can provide us with goalpower down the middle, just behind the Yak.

Different to Arteta, despite

Different to Arteta, despite what some say. A quality player no doubt, if it is £7m, he is an absolute bargain. Now the concerns. He is small, with him we will have the smallest Midfield in the Premiership and he is not proven in the rough and tumble and high pressure environment of the English Premiership. At least Peinaar and Osman know what it's about now and put in their shift. His work rate is not highly noted either and that can be a major issue for an Everton Player. I amongst many others coveted Arshavin until the final Russian Game in the Euro's, when he looked to be the last thing even the Red***** wanted and boy has it gone quiet about him since, he looked the laziest player in Europe, (another Marcus Bent) if it wasn't played to his feet he never went looking for the ball. We cannot afford anyone in a Blue shirt with that attitude. I personally believe the first signing should be a replacement for Carsley, someone in midfield that is going to protect the defence and then allow us to build. Look at all the great sides in the past, they have had that one individual that is there to put his life on the line for the team and is the foundation for any counter attack. Just go back to last year and review how many times 'old baldy' broke up the oppositions attack and passed the ball to the likes of Arteta to start the counter-attack, you will be amazed. At the moment that does not exist and therefore that must be Moyes first signing. Shoot me down if you want, I am prepared to listen. Caveman

Leigh...You want to see the

Leigh...You want to see the back of Arteta??? Are you a real blue? He was carrying a stomach injury most of the season! You quilt.

Vamooos Pablito Aimar!
