FanCast columnist Jerome
Johnstone looks at
the tough decision facing Aaron Ramsey and wonders which club will prove the
best move for the Welsh wonderkid.
I wonder how Aaron Ramsey is feeling this morning. 17yrs old,
just out of school, and you have three of England's great football clubs after
your signature - can life get any better?
There is no doubting this boy has ability and anyone who saw
Cardiff's run in the FA Cup can vouch for. He seemingly has no apparent
weaknesses and can play a variety of roles within the team; he even filled in
at full back at one point. There are a lot of people who will come out and say,
"We have been here before", and it is
fair to say that history has a list as long as your arm of potential
superstars, but it is widely accepted within the game that this kid is on a different
level and would hold his own in the Premier League now and with relative ease.
Manchester United, Arsenal and Everton, being the latest, have all had offers accepted by Cardiff City, who are refusing to stand in the player's way of a move. Apparently a move to United would be Ramsey's preferred choice, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will be the best move for the player. Arsenal is notorious in blooding their youngsters, while at Everton you feel the player will get a better opportunity to play first team football.
It is quite a dilemma that Aaron Ramsey has, but few would argue a nice one to face. What would be the best move for the Welshman and which club will offer him the best chance of developing?
