Facey worries that Portsmouth must tie down their current crop of stars,
before looking to build for next season.
In the wake of Saturday's FA Cup triumph, it was inevitable that a
certain few of Pompey's star performers would be linked with high profile moves
abroad.
Niko Kranjcar has been linked with Arsenal and his speed in coming
out and saying that he could be tempted away from Fratton Park if a big club
came along will disappoint fans that cheered the Croatian star at Wembley at
the weekend.
"I don't want to go anywhere, I'm very happy. Obviously playing in Europe is a big chance for me," Kranjcar told ITV Sport.
However, when a player comes out and simultaneously states that he is happy at the club but could be tempted away, fans know all too well that they should brace themselves for a departure.
"I'd be crazy if I said I wasn't tempted by the calls of big clubs because everyone wants to achieve the most in their career and play Champions League football and win more trophies.
"What the new season brings no-one knows yet but I'm happy at Portsmouth and it's a great place to be at the moment."
Is this a major lack of disrespect from Kranjcar, who owes a lot to Redknapp for his rise to prominence in the Premier League, or is he understandably setting his sights high?
Pompey are in the UEFA Cup next season but the Champions League may prove to be a step to far for the South Coast club for the immediate future; are Portsmouth in danger of becoming a selling club once more?
What can Pompey offer players like Kranjcar to keep them at the club and keep them involved with Harry Redknapp's project?
