Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp has pledged to wheel and deal his way to success this season after admitting there is nothing left in the Fratton Park coffers to bolster his squad.
Redknapp has spent around £15million bringing Peter Crouch and Younes Kaboul to the south coast club this summer, but has lost the likes of Pedro Mendes and Sulley Muntari in a bid to balance the books.
Jerome Thomas and Ben Sahar have arrived on loan and Redknapp has admitted that any more transfer moves will be along similar lines.
"We could all buy the best players in the world if we had an open chequebook, but it's called managing - I have to manage this football club," he told the Portsmouth News.
"I love looking around for loans. I enjoy that side of the job and I love that part of the game. That's managing.
"So I will beg, borrow and steal one or two bodies who might do well for us.
"I've had great backing and I'm happy with the money I've had to spend. The owner can't just keep pumping millions and millions of pounds in.We've got to balance the books."
Meanwhile, Redknapp has again admitted he would like to sign unsettled Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips if he had the necessary funds. He added:
"If I could go and buy a good right-winger now, I would do.
"If I had the money, I would buy Shaun Wright-Phillips. "But that's out of the question now, I haven't got that sort of money."
Have the board got to support Redknapp and his revolution?
