Slick Bulgarian, skilled Colombian or a flying Dutchman - Who would Manchester United fans like to lead the line next season?

Football FanCast guest columnist Jez Morley looks at the endless rumours circulating at Manchester United and wonders who would provide the perfect foil for Wayne Rooney or Carlos Tevez.

Bob Paisley once proclaimed that one of the secrets of Liverpool's success was that they never rested on their laurels and always improved their squad every given season. The thinking that it was best to add new faces, when you are in position of strength as it would prevent complacency creeping in and maintain the squads desire for success. It is an ethos that Sir Alex Ferguson has always adhered to and this summer will certainly prove no different.

So where are Manchester United needing to improve? Having just achieved a Champions and Premier League double, you would be seemingly picking at hairs to find a weakness in this unit but the one area that seems to be prominent on most United websites and boards is the need for a top quality striker; one who could chip in with 25+ goals and take some much needed pressure off Cristiano Ronaldo.

So who should be brought it? If you look at Fleet Street then they have tried to link us with every available striker in world football. I always thought my knowledge of football was good after years of abusing Championship Manager, but Wikipedia and YouTube has become my new confidant as I search to find out what attributes they will bring to Manchester United. I personally feel we need a target man/poacher and dare I say in the mould of one Ruud Van Nistelrooy and one that could provide a perfect foil for Wayne Rooney or Carlos Tevez - I have narrowed my search down to three and leave you to decide who would represent the best signing for the football club.

Jan Huntelaar

Dimitar Berbatov

Falcao

There is no question that all three forwards could do a fantastic job for Manchester United and are all currently available for transfer - Dimitar Berbatov would certainly be my choice, but who do you see as the perfect signing to lead the United attack next season?

Berbatov any day of the

Berbatov any day of the week, the perfect player and would be fantastic in a three prong attack with Rooney and Tevez.

I like Berbatov but

I like Berbatov but Huntelaar is the more prolific out of the three so I would go for the Dutchman.

Berbatov, closes thing I

Berbatov, closes thing I have ever seen to Cantona.

Falcao for me,deadly with

Falcao for me,deadly with both feet, masterful in the air, lightning fast pace and scores goals for fun and is a full international and he's only 22!!By far and away the best package for United to turn into a superstar striker like non before.Berbatov will be knackered by 20 mins trying to keep up with our front line amd we'd only get 4 or 5 years max out of him whereas with Falcao we'd get 10 years out of him!!!Use your heads and not your hearts and Falcao is our main transfer target,SAF wanted someone young???

Huntelaar is a great

Huntelaar is a great finisher but he's slow and I don't think he's a good fit for United. Dimitar Berbatov is a talent that's for sure but once again I don't think he's an ideal fit at the speed United has been playing at in recent seasons but I think he's much better fit than Huntelaar. Falcao is someone I don't know enough about to have a proper idea how he would fit. I think Saha's style is a perfect fit for what United needs, it's just a shame that he can't stay healthy.

I have heard people say

I have heard people say Huntelaar is a bit slow, though he certainly can score goals in Holland. What is not in dount is that he is a finisher and not all players rely on speed. He seems to have a great knack of getting himself in the right place at the right time. Dutch players often do well in the EPL too. I don't think Berbatov is the right player for United. We are now a fast one touch team. I just think he will slow us down and probably not pull his weight. He is undoubtedly talented but if Ronnie doesn't go there is no room for another one who's head drops when it isn't going our way. The last fella - not seen much of him and based on that clip above I'm not bothered. Torres would have been the one. I can see why fergie was so keen on him until he went to pool. Out of those 3 options I think I'd prefer Huntelaar. Possibly Huntelaar AND Berbatov if Ronnie goes (with Tevez maybe trying out the right wing).

Berbatov may have some

Berbatov may have some Cantona characteristics but he is not the leader that Cantona was, and that was Cantona's best asset

Are you serious? Have you

Are you serious? Have you got the name wrong? Coz I thought you said Cantona? Berbatov's name shouldnt even be spoken in the same sentance as King Eric's. Do you even watch football? Huntlaar would be the striker for me, Berba is good but his attitude lets him down, plus he is older than the other two mentioned.

Presume you're talking to

Presume you're talking to Bestie and not Bertie as we seem to be singing from the same songsheet

Falcao is specific for

Falcao is specific for united rythm.
