POLL:
Football FanCast
columnist Phil Tomlinson is sure Swansea's Ferrie Bodde will soon be
playing in the Premier League.
The 26-year-old midfielder has been in sparkling form for
Swansea this season and he is the major reason behind the Welsh team's
emergence in the second tier.
Roberto Martinez's men lie ninth in the table and look a decent
outside football bet for a
play-off place after their heroics in winning League One last term.
Bodde has netted six times already this season including a 45-yard wonder strike in the win over Preston in September and has been making giant strides in the Championship.
But the Dutch ace is not only deadly accurate from long range, his passing game is strong and his competitive streak has had many scouts marking his card.
The £3million-rated star was on the verge of a transfer in the summer with Derby County lodging a bid for his services, but Bodde eventually decided to stay put and penned a three-year deal.
He has flourished this season in the Championship and he is a midfielder with plenty of attributes, but his tackling ability and eye for a killer pass are surpassed by his ability to get forward and score goals.
And if he can maintain his current scoring ratio of six in 15 then his price tag will have risen dramatically by the end of the campaign.
His form is sure to alerted old and new suitors alike with Bolton, West Brom and Middlesbrough all reportedly casting admiring glances towards the former Den Haag star.
He is a player who is destined for greater things and one to keep an eye on.
