Football FanCast columnist Rob Facey looks at the lengths Blackburn are going to in order to make sure they get their man and hopes that Ince is able to handle the pressure of managing in the Premier League.

Blackburn Rovers have asked the FA exactly what needs to be done in order for Paul Ince to be given the green light to take over at Ewood Park despite not having a Pro License; the standard coaching qualification necessary to control first team affairs in the Premier League.

Ince, who is currently the MK Dons boss, is attending a course in Wales after being advised this would greatly enhance Blackburn's argument as the club's Chairman, John Williams, and looks to replace Mark Hughes who left for Manchester City.

"I've met with Paul a couple of times and we are doing everything possible to help him get the qualifications he needs," Williams told The Guardian.

"He's one of our members and has been a manager for the last two seasons, so we'll be very supportive in whatever way we can. The Premier League rules about having the correct licenses are very clear, but there have been exceptions to it."

Indeed, but these exceptions include Glenn Roeder and Gareth Southgate, managers who struggle to be classed as mediocre.

How will Ince be different? He only took over at Macclesfield 20 months ago and should he be announced at Blackburn this will be his third job in this period as he fast tracks his way to the Premier League. Is this the way forward at Ewood Park; effectively appointing a rookie to replace Hughes?

Clearly Ince has what it takes to succeed and has worked wonders at MK Dons and Macclesfield, but should Rovers be instilling this much trust in somebody without any experience in the Championship, let alone the Premier League?

I'd love Ince to succeed, but has this job come too soon in his fledgling career?

I agree that it is a bit of a gamble but to be honest you have to take a chance sometimes and I would rather have an inexperienced coach than Allardyce.

I feel it is going to be a tough struggle for us next season. With Cruz and Bentley likely to be leaving, a new manager - a season of transition awaits.

You dont win the lottery if you dont buy a ticket so why not give the guy a chance. We took one with Hughes and it didnt pay off badly.

Has to be Laudrup - Ince has so little experience why would a club as high as Blackbubrn have been in the premieship last season give it up for a rookie - madness IMHO if it happens I would see them as potential relegation candidates.

Laudrup to be appointed
Laudrup to be appointed Coach/Manager on a short term contract, 1 or 2 seasons. Ince to assist during that time, title 'Manager designate'. This would give Ince the oppertunity to take the required coaching courses, he hasn't even got 'B' or 'A', nevermind the Premiership one. He has been told he has to have passed them within 2 years or he will not be allowed to manage a Premiership team. During his time as Laudrups assistant he would learn a lot and become a great manager in his own right, at the end of the coming season (or the following one).

The talk around Ewood is
The talk around Ewood is that Ince would be a gamble but why not? As a small town club we don't have to answer to shareholders or a rich owner, JW looks after the club he loves and as supported since before Uncle Jack (the greatest football fan ever!)... he takes the view of the fans much more seriously than any other Premiership Chairman... when he heard that the fans had signed petitions again Wally Maclaren and Fat Sam the disappeared off the radar... whether Ince and Laudrup... we are still the best team to support!
