well, like me i hope all city fans would like to send a big welcome to manchester city fc to the welshman Mark 'Sparky' Hughes, but if we dont get in the top 6 could he face the axe like Sven ? if this is how Thaksin is going to run the club with manager after manager city will be headin for...well, staying exacly the same to put it plainly.For years us sky blue fans have been craving some kind of consistancy at the club but weve been let down year after year.Even last year with such a great start to the season with Sven at the helm, Elano in the center wow-ing us with spectacular free-kicks, Petrov with unpredictable runs down the left wing and Michael Johnson rolling back the memories of the days of Colin Bell. We thourght we had it made with such a strong and stylish squad. So how could it all go wrong at the turn of 2008 ? some say Elano couldnt play in the cold weather and that he didnt seem interested anymore, myself i feel that Elano did dip in form a little but i think it was more that other teams focused on trying to close him down more and cancel him out of the game.My most inconsistant player of the season was the balding Bulgarian Martin Petrov, at times i just felt like shouting 'Dont give it Petrov !' because of his tendency to give up on the left if it wasn't working out for him and switching to the center or right where he played like a headless chicken. (aka Danny Mills =] ) The only consistantly good area at City last season for me was the captain, Richard Dunne. The four time player of the year played out of his skin yet again all season long and showed us all why we have watched City through last three or so years, because of him. So the player who was our best player by far again could now be leaving, oh great, more problems
