Do Liverpool do well in Europe because they don't compete in the league?

Posted by: Micheal McKenna, Fri 9th May 2008
Liverpool do quite well each season in the champions league (bearing in mind though, they have only won it once) but this is because they simply do not compete domestically. Rafa 'rotate' Benitez simply doesn't know the meaning on consistency. he rests all his top players (all 3 of them, and then the other end of season regulars) in the first half of the season therefore enabling them to perform in the latter half. It also helps them in the Champions League because by the time the semi's come around Liverpool have cemented their coveted fourth place by then, allowing them to concentrate solely on Europe.

To all those blue noses you
To all those blue noses you have to come to terms that you are as Rafa once commented a small club. You ask all @ sky (who pay all the small clubs hansomly) who the BIG clubs are & Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal & Liverpool are the BIG clubs. I am not being bias when I make this statement, but far to often Everton fans when they are up near the top get carried away & start making rash predicitions.I have only 2 days ago been paid out on a silly bet that Everton would finish above us in the season just gone. Unfortunatly Liverpool havnt been good enough to mount a challenge for the title but Im sure with a couple of major additions we will challenge next season. One thing for sure is Everton will not finish in top four becuse they are too small a club.
